More Homecoming!

I was asked by the teenagers of the Madison LDS church to do the formal pictures at their Homecoming dance.  The kids seemed to have a blast at the dance, and the pictures came out really well.  I love doing this type of event!  It is so fun to see all the kids dressed up and decked out.  Here are some of my favorites.

Tate Farms!

I have been hearing about Tate Farms since we moved here almost 3 years ago but have never been.  Everyone talks about how wonderful it is so since my niece is visiting from Atlanta we decided to go Saturday.  Both girls had a BLAST and Tate Farms definitely has a well deserved reputation.  Ella’s favorite part was the baby rabbits and the corn cribs.  Brenna, my niece, loved the play ground and the corn crib.  If I didn’t have to worry about critters, I would make them their very own corn crib in my back yard!  We had an awesome day and the girls both took 2 hour naps afterwards so you know they had fun.

Homecoming!  A most anticipated event for a teen girl.  The perfect date, the perfect dress and of course, the perfect pictures to document the occasion for posterity!  I had the wonderful opportunity to photograph my beautiful next door neighbor in her dress before the dance last night.  We went to a gorgeous new apartment complex that had a wonderful setting for pictures.  I also managed to snap a few with her parents before her date arrived.

The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree in this house.  Ella has the photo-bug and loves to steal my camera to take pictures.  My dad got her a Mickey Mouse toddler’s camera, but she prefers the handling and speed of my point and shoot, or even better, my work camera.  I have to keep a close eye on my equipment or I will find a little 2 ½ year old running around the house with $1000’s of camera taking pictures of people’s feet!  After a recent shoot Ella wanted a turn to be photographer, I told her that she could take pictures of me as I took pictures of her.  She is going to make a great photographer someday I think!

This week I had the privilege of photographing the S family.  There are 6 kids in the family and they are all gorgeous!  We were after a great picture of all the kids together.  It was difficult, and I had to resort to some clever photo shopping, but we got some fabulous pictures out of the session.  I had so much fun with these well behaved, photogenic kids!  Big sister is especially beautiful, I may have to steal her for some portfolio shots later this year.

Also, don’t forget everyone that Christmas is just around the corner.  We are offering our custom Christmas cards again this year, and sessions need to be booked by mid November in order to have the cards in time to be sent out before Christmas.  Here are some samples of this year’s card.  In the coming week I will be putting up a gallery with other samples on the webpage so check back and take a look!

Entry for October 3, 2008

Here are some more pages from Jaydan’s ABC book.   We have all but 1 letter done and I am so excited about this book!  Jaydan was such a cutie and did a wonderful job with all the prop changes.  I am smitten with this adorable little boy.

This week I also finally got to have my ultrasound.  After 2 canceled appointments due to a broken machine, my OB got me in with a different clinic and we went in on Wednesday.  Everything looks good and healthy and the baby seems to have all its parts.  We also were able to get a very clear picture of the important bits and found out that we are having a… BOY!  We are both very excited and a little apprehensive.  We don’t have any boy clothes or boy stuff so we have a lot of stuff to gather in the next 19 weeks.  We also don’t have a boy name picked out.  We have had a girls name picked for a long time but neither of us can agree on a name for a boy!  Wish us luck that we can find something we both like or this little one will end up named “baby boy”.
