Entry for September 21, 2008

A busy and fun week!  This week we had the first session of my latest ABC book.  Little J is just 2 and was a wonderful model on Thursday.  We got more letters done than I had expected and he behaved so well.  I had so much fun getting to know him and his mother better.  We will be continuing his session this Wednesday so check back next week for more ABCs!

I also got to photograph little C and her family.  C just turned 1 so she was the star of the shoot. She had a really hard time getting started, but once she got comfortable she was a rock star!  We got some wonderful pictures with a wide range of emotion.  From crying to smiling and from serious to silly she gave me lots to work with.  Her big sister L was not at all interested in having her picture taken but we still managed to steal a few frames of her.  To top of the day we had some family pictures taken with everyone.  Big brother J is adorably cute and has the best dimples.  This was a wonderful family to photograph and I can’t wait till November when I get to go back and do their extended family as well

New backdrop and funny faces!

 This week we got a new backdrop we had ordered.  I was tired of the same old black and white so I got a greeny-blue painted backdrop to add a new option.  I couldn’t wait to try it out so I made Ella sit for me.  She wasn’t really interested until I told her to make some funny faces.  She likes making funny faces so this was a good trade off for her.  I really love the way this new backdrop looks and I can’t wait to bring it along for my next shoot.

Entry for September 7, 2008

This past week I spent a couple of days in Kentucky with my Mom and Ella visiting my Grandparents.  Ella had a wonderful time seeing her Great-Grandparents and I had so much fun seeing my family.  My favorite cousin came over and brought her baby with her.  Julie is only 3 months older than I am and we always had so much fun playing together when we were kids.  Her baby is 9 months old now and this is the first time I got to meet Dylan.  Ella was not amused by her second cousin.  She didn’t like sharing the limelight.  She also didn’t like him touching her toys!  Dylan is such a cutie and Julie and I took him out into our Grandmothers fabulous garden for a mini-photoshoot.  I am so grateful that we live close enough to go for a visit and I hope we get to go again soon!

 

Ella and my Pop, her Great-Grandfather.  We weren’t able to get a nice one of Mimi (G-grandma) so maybe next time.
