She learns early on that knowledge is power and that it is a wonderful thing to have the world open up to you through books.

Character

For a long time I have been wanting to do more art photography to stretch my skills and to do something for me. I was inspired to start this project a little over a year ago and today I am releasing the first set of images from my Photo Series "Character".

Each picture represents a character from a book that embodies attributes I believe are worthy of emulation by today's little girls.  Featuring my daughter Elinor and my niece Brenna, each set, costume and prop was carefully selected to evoke the spirit of the character pictured.

I will be releasing a new set of characters each week for the next 5 weeks.  I would love for you to share the pictures but please give me credit, and a link back would be nice.

Senior on the Mountain

Yesterday I got to photograph a beautiful senior girl up on Green Mountain.  Her family was fun (and funny) to work with.  I really enjoyed my time with them.

The P Family

I met this family while doing Gymnastics pictures at Madison Gymnastics this spring.  We met at the Mill Creek Greenway this morning for some family pictures.  Little O was a doll, he followed directions and smiled so nicely!  R was a bit more of a challenge, but she did great in the end and we got some really nice pictures.  I was so relieved to see the greenway wasn't flooded from the storms yesterday!
