Ella is in love with the camera again!  She is very interested in the other side of pictures right now.  I find her stealing my camera often.  She is so cute!  She holds my big camera up to her face, and points it at someone and says, “Smi-ul”.  She doesn’t know how to actually take a picture yet, but after she pretends to take a shot she will say, “Good job!” or “That’s great!”.  I guess I know what I sound like now!  Thankfully she is also willing to sit for me again.  Whenever she does something she thinks is noteworthy she turns to me and says “Take a Picture Mommy” so the number of snapshots I have of her is growing rapidly.  I don’t think I have taken this many candids in such a short time since she was a newborn!  I also got to take some additional 2 year portraits, this time in the studio.  I must say, she is awfully cute.

More ABC’s!  The rest of little Brenna’s sessions went wonderfully!  I have all 26 pictures taken and now I just have to get to editing.  She was a great little girl to work with, as long as I had enough candy on hand!  She was tired of shooting and we only had 4 or 5 left so with permission from her Mom we bribed her with  M&Ms.  Worked like a charm and we got some fantastic pictures.

 

We have a lot of great sessions to look forward to next month including a last minute maternity session this weekend.  It has been a long while since I have shot an expecting mother and I am really looking forward to it!

My baby is 2! Last week was wonderful.  I got to spend the week worrying about nothing but showing my Mother-in-law a good time.  After being so busy this year it was nice to have a break.  Now it is back to regular life full of fun, babies, and photo sessions!  Since I was free all week I took the time to do Ella’s 2 year pictures.  This year we went to the local Botanical gardens.  It was so pretty out and Ella looked fabulous in her little dress.

The Garden is having a special dinosaur exhibit and Ella was so funny about the dino's. Whenever she would run into one she would lean waaaaay back and give a fake little "aaaah" scream and then laugh.

We also took a trip to the zoo in Birmingham.  It was Ella’s first time there.  She loved all the animals, especially the turtles!

On Monday I did the first of several sessions for an ABC book.  The star of this book is Brenna.  She was a doll and we managed to get 10 of our 26 letters done.  We will be doing at least 2 more sessions before we finish the book but at this rate it should go quickly.  The ABC sessions are so different from my regular sessions, much quicker paced and more regimented.  I was so exhausted after the session but I loved every minute of it.  Here are some of the finished slides.

 

Entry for April 14, 2008

My baby turns 2 this Friday and things have been super busy getting ready for her party and my Mother in law, who will be visiting for the event.  We are so excited to have her here as she is only able to visit once a year from Utah.  I decided not to take on any sessions last week so that I would have plenty of time to clean and organize the house.  I do have one picture of Ella to share. She will not pose for me any more!  I only got this shot because I bribed her with an old candy cane.  She will sit for food, but I don’t want her hands in her mouth every shot!  I think her eyes look lovely in this picture!

 

I also wanted to post some of the reception pictures from our wedding last week.  I finally got everything edited, and now I am working on creating the album.  I am almost finished!  I am so excited about this album. I think this is my best one yet.  I can’t wait to see what my bride thinks of it! If I can’t finish it before my MIL gets here Wednesday it will have to wait until she is gone on Sunday.  I only have 1 or 2 more page spreads to design before I can call this project done!  I will include some of the page samples too!

Entry for April 7, 2008

This week I cleared my schedule for a wedding.  The ceremony was on Wednesday and the reception was on Friday.  It was a lot of fun to shoot.  The wedding was in the bride’s backyard and after all the formal pictures, the bride asked to go to a local playground to take some fun couples pictures.  The playground was the perfect setting for this wonderful fun loving couple.  We played on all the equipment and got some really fun and different shots.  This was my first wedding of the year and really got me in the mood!  I don’t have any of the reception pictures ready yet, but here is a peek at the ceremony and playground pictures.
