Entry for August 5, 2008

This week I had an interesting photo shoot.  I was contacted by Mrs. B to photograph her son for a special tradition.  It seems that for the last 100+ years the B family has had a picture taken of every child born into the family when they turn 11months 29days in the exact same outfit.  I thought that this was the neatest thing!  When they arrived Mrs. B pulled out the cutest old fashioned white “dress” type outfit, the kind of things both girls and boys wore 100 years ago.  She had asked for some nice “classic” but not necessarily period specific props to use in the picture.  We started out with a ride-on horse, and then a wooden rocking chair and finished with Ella’s hobby horse.  We came out with some nice photographs which I processed in B&W so it would fit in with all the other photographs that her family has collected.  I really enjoyed working with the B family!  It was so nice to meet them and get to be a part of such a long-time tradition.
